Retro, kitschy, pretty and fun, flowers made from everyone’s household staple, toilet paper, are blooming once again. Toilet paper flowers are a popular craft for decorating parade cars, filling in background on wedding reception displays and serving as a bow for gift wrap, not to mention the flowers other countless decorative uses. Easy enough for children, the craft lends itself to “flower making parties,” building excitement for the big event to come. The toilet paper flower resembles a rosette, rather than a tulip or daisy. Things You'll Need:

  • Rolls of toilet paper, any color
  • Wire twists like those used for plastic produce bags
  1. Step 1

    Layer five sheets of toilet paper on top of each other.

    Fan fold the sheets in 1/2-inch increments. A casual, soft fold is fine. Creasing is not necessary.

  3. Step 3

    Tie middle with a wire twist. If leftover twist tie is lengthy, snip off.

    Separate sheets gingerly to create the toilet paper flower. Careful not to rip. The toilet paper flower is almost in full bloom.

Tips & Warnings
  • Color the flowers with felt pens, glitter, paint. The possibilities are endless.
  • Make larger flowers with facial tissue, paper towels or gift wrap tissue.
  • Secure the end of pipe cleaner to the toilet paper flower to create a stem.
