Instructions
  1. Step 1

Determine how elite you want your craft guild to be. It could be limited to specific crafts or open to a broad range of crafters. Get a feel for the number of members you would like to involve.

  2. Step 2

Decide how often and where your craft guild will meet. Review your options by talking to local libraries or craft stores to see what availability they have, and if there are any charges for using their facilities. You can also meet in individual homes and share the responsibility of refreshments.

  3. Step 3

Advertise your craft guild. Send invitations to your friends and family members, and place advertisements at the local crafting supply stores. Contact the local television stations as many will show a list of community events.

  4. Step 4

Prepare for your first meeting by having an inventory of name tags and crafting supplies on hand. Consider a list of topics for discussions to avoid awkward lulls in the conversation.

  5. Step 5

Greet everyone by name and welcome them personally into the circle. Introduce each person to the rest of the group. Crafting guilds are as much a social event as they are a crafting event.

  6. Step 6

Serve easy to handle refreshments. Keep in mind that many crafters are very cautious about what they eat or drink around their crafting projects. Serve refreshments accordingly to protect those projects.
