Horse racing has grown in popularity in recent years and going to the track is a great way to spend the day. If you've placed the standard "win, place or show" bets, maybe it's time to try something exotic, like the Triactor (also called Trifecta).

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Choose the race that you would like to bet on. Whether you're doing your research online or by the bettor's guide at the track, target races in which you have some knowledge of the horses. Placing a triactor bet is not something you merely do on a hunch, as the odds of winning are stacked against you. However if you are correct, a few bucks can turn into a few thousand.
Step2
Pick the three horses which you think will win, place and show in that given race.
Step3
Arrange those three horses in the exact order in which you believe they will cross the finish line.
Step4
Go to a computer betting module or ticket window to place your bet. If speaking to a teller, you should say something like, "I want to place on a $5 triactor bet on the 1st race. Horse 4 to win, 2 to place and 7 to show."
Step5
Pay your money and receive your horse racing betting ticket. Before leaving the betting window, make sure that your ticket reads correctly.
Step6
Watch the race and cheer . If the horses cross the finish line in the order you predicted, you are going to be very happy.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try betting a few different triactor combinations on a given race. Especially if only a five or six horses are running. Your bet can be as little as a dollar, but if you hit it the 4 combinations you tried may be money very well spent.
