For the Hollywood set, Academy Awards night is the party of the year, celebrating showbiz’s best of the best. But not everyone needs to be in Hollywood to be part of the fun. When attending or hosting an Oscars party this year, break out the formal attire and go glam like a movie star.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Formal wear or costume
  • An Academy Award-winning performance

Step1
Even if the Oscars party doesn’t have a red-carpet roll out, dress up anyway. This may be your only chance to get gussied up this year.
Step2
Dust off that old tuxedo or evening dress from the closet, rent a fancy get-up or go shopping for new duds. Dressing up in formal wear will make you look and feel fabulous.
Step3
If you’re afraid of attracting too much attention, wear that little black dress left over from holiday parties. Very Audrey Hepburn.
Step4
Rhinestones are a girl's best friend. Accessorize with rhinestones, unless you're lucky enough to have the real thing. C'mon ladies, make Marilyn proud.
Step5
Get creative and dress as your favorite Oscar nominee. This is where things get fun. If arriving to the party as a group, dress as an entire cast. And the Oscar goes to....

Tips & Warnings

  • Shop vintage stores for that classic Hollywood look.
  • Don’t be afraid to be glamorous, even if the rest of the party is wearing jeans and T-shirts.
