Things You'll Need:
- Blank White Paper
- Pen/Pencil/Marker/Crayons
- Scissors
- Computer W/Printer (Optional)
- Stencils
-
Step 1
First decide what kinds of pictures you want to use for your memory game (your own drawings: cat, dog, fish, house, etc.)(Print your own pictures from your computer using family photos or pictures you uploaded from the Internet: favorite cartoon character, different kinds & colors of cars, etc.)
-
Step 2
Next, take your blank piece of white paper & fold it 3 times starting by folding the paper in half, from top to bottom, then in half again from side to side & last in half from top to bottom again.
-
Step 3
Now unfold your paper to reveal the lines so that you can draw in your own pictures. After unfolding your paper, you should end up with 8 boxes to draw in. Make sure to do the same for the other piece of paper & draw the exact same pictures as best as you can so that you end up with a copy of your pictures.
-
Step 4
You can do as many cards as you like, just make sure you have two of the same picture for every picture you have.
-
Step 5
Now cut your cards out & shuffle them to mix up the cards.
-
Step 6
It’s time to gather your players & place the cards face down on the table or on the floor. Take turns flipping the cards over, allowing each player to have 2 chances to turn over the cards. If they make a match, they get two more turns.

on 7/24/2008 Always a favorite for the little one (I enjoy it to). I really like the idea of making your own, or the kids making them is even better. Great article, thanks. Again 5 stars.
