How to Create an Intranet Blog for a Company Project

With recent technology, a department may comprise people in different states and even different countries. This makes communication challenging at the very best. One piece of technology that may make this easier is an intranet blog. Project leaders can feel more confident about communicating the latest information to staff regardless of their location. Create an intranet blog for a company project with limited technical know-how and a little coordination.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Contact the web master in the company IT department. This person should be able to set up an intranet with access for only company employees. Similar blog may be created with blogging sites, but security is not guaranteed.

  2. Step 2

    Invite all internal stakeholders to take part in the blog. Send out an email invitation. Make in it the form of a press release so that employees will be excited about the prospect of having a central location to get all information on a project.

  3. Step 3

    Allow users to create login profiles. The profile can be as limited or as detailed as desired. This will give readers an opportunity to learn about other people involved in a project. They may see common goals that were not previously evident.

  4. Step 4

    Create guidelines for posting. An office cooler informality may be good for some companies while others want a just the facts about to posting. Decide which will work best for the company and document guidelines that make rules clear.

  5. Step 5

    Assign a moderator. Multiple moderators may be assigned. This person or persons will be responsible for implementing the guidelines and reigning in the natives if they get a little rowdy. These persons may also be used to separate fact from fiction when questions are posted on the blog.
