How to Scan by Using HP Director Software
Step1
HP director when opened and different choices
Double Click on HP director to start it up. Look for "HP Director" on your desktop (the screen in front of you). It is usually an icon that materializes after you install your printer. (It may look slightly different with different models.
Step2
Scan the document by clicking "Scan."
Step3
Select "Save to File." (You can set up a folder ahead of time so you know where to find the document or photos once they are scanned). Often times the computer will create a default "scanned documents" folder and organize them by saving them on the date scanned.
Step4
Click scan and then wait for box to appear.
Step5
The software will prompt you to save the file. Put it in the folder you created (you can see the path/folder). Give it a name you will remember.
Step6
Then click "Save"to finalize it. The document should be in the folder that you designated.
Tips & Warnings
No Internet connection is needed.
This will work on most HP scanners or all-in-one machines.
These instructions are not specific to any one model, but an overview of HP scanning functions.
Practice a few times to get comfortable with the procedure.
If it does not work the first time or you cannot find the folder you created, try it again or create a new folder.
If you cannot find the HP Director icon on the desktop, look for it in the start menu. If it is not there, then you may have to install it using the HP printer CD.
