The daily grind is not just coffee. It’s the action or actions that people repeat on a daily basis. That same process applies to computers. Specifically, Macs offer an option that automates procedures that users may plan to do consistently. The process is called workflow and may involve as many or as few steps as desired. Here’s how to create workflow in Mac.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Step1
Look for the Automator application in Mac. It will be under the applications section on the Mac hard drive. Once the application is found, double click on "Automator."
Step2
Review the Library and Actions sections. The Library section contains all the applications currently available for workflow. The Actions section has all of the possible actions that may be chosen for each application.
Step3
Play with the Actions section by creating test workflow. Drag selections from the Actions sections and drop them in the blank field to the right. This is the first step in creating workflow. There are also completed examples of workflow at the bottom of the Library window. Run the examples to gain more understanding about the process.
Step4
Create a customized workflow. Do this by selecting "File" then "New." A new workflow window will appear with the same Library and Action windows from the previous screen. As new workflow is created, play with the option feature for each Action. Each action will allow its own set of options for the user.
Step5
Select the "Run" option in the top right of the workflow screen. This will allow the user to test the setup of the workflow and tweak any changes that may be necessary. Select "File" then "Save As" and name the workflow appropriately.
