Old books have a special smell and feel that can only be achieved through time. However, if you saved every book that you ever read, you'd soon find yourself living among mountains of books! Finding ways to recycle books has been challenging at times, but easier nowadays with the Internet.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Sell them on eBay. All you have to do is enter the ISBN code and the pre-filled information is all there. Then list the condition particulars.
Step2
Give them to your local public school library. If the books are in decent condition and children friendly then usually the school will be glad to take them.
Step3
Donate them to your local thrift shop. You can even get a tax credit for the donation.
Step4
Sell them at a consignment shop. Usually they will let you sell them in your store in exchange for a small percentage of the sale.

on 12/18/2007 You can also turn them into altered books--an art form in which you make collages, draw, cut, fold and decorate the pages to turn the book into another creation entirely. eHow member Jen Hollowell has many articles here about making altered books.
