Stomach hair can be embarrassing for men and women alike. Hair in this unfortunate location can give even the sexiest person a caveman appearance. Shaving it off only leads to awkward stomach stubble. Waxing is expensive, and you usually have to go to the salon to do it. Body sugaring, however, is a cheap and remarkably effective way to remove unwanted stomach hair.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Stiff sponge
  • Body powder
  • Jar of body sugaring
  • Tongue depressor
  • Wooden spoon
  • Three to five equal-sized strips of clean cotton sheeting

Step1
Scrub your stomach clean using a stiff sponge. Remove all of the dead skin as you scrub.
Step2
Pat your stomach as dry as you can possibly get it. You may have to add body powder to soak up any stubborn moisture. The skin must be entirely dry in order for the body sugaring to stick.
Step3
Warm up your body sugaring by microwaving it on half-power for 1 minute or by heating it in a pot of simmering water on your stove. The body sugaring should take on a thick, milkshake-like consistency that makes it easily spreadable.
Step4
Take a tongue depressor or a wooden spoon and pull out enough of the sugaring mixture to cover the stomach hair you want to remove.
Step5
Smear the body sugaring in a 1/8-inch layer over the stomach hair you want to remove. The stomach hair should be completely covered, with none of it visible through the sugaring.
Step6
Press a cotton strip firmly over the body sugaring. It needs to stick on its own, without you holding it there. Be sure to press it down in the direction of your hair growth.
Step7
Pull the cotton strip off in one swift motion, going in the opposite direction of the hair growth. The unwanted stomach hair should come off with the sugaring mixture and be visible on the cotton strip.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you don't get enough body sugaring with your tongue depressor to cover up all of your stomach hair the first time, feel free to continue scooping out more until you've achieved the coverage you need.
  • If you have discomfort that lasts more than 2 minutes after you remove the stomach hair, apply some cool lotion to the skin. If this doesn't help, use an icepack wrapped with a towel, holding it against your stomach until the sting subsides.
