How to Shape Eyebrows With Sugaring
Men and women alike go to great lengths to get that perfect arch. A professional-quality eyebrow shape is most commonly achieved through tweezing. However, pulling out hair in this manner can take quite a while. Another option is going to the salon to have your eyebrows waxed. If you'd like to try a far less messy method, and do it in the comfort of your own home, you should try sugaring. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Eyebrow or eyeliner pencil in black or dark brown
- Jar of body sugaring mixture
- Small tongue depressor
- Two small strips of cotton from an old sheet

1
Sharpen an eyebrow or eyeliner pencil to a fine point. Black and dark-brown pencils are best.
-
2
Use the pencil to draw the outline of your desired shape on your eyebrows.

3
Heat a jar of body sugaring in the microwave until the mixture is the consistency of molasses. Usually, 1 minute in the microwave on half-power will suffice for this. Make sure you remove the lid from the jar before heating it.
-
4
Allow the body sugaring mixture to cool until you can touch it without getting scalded.
-
5
Use a small tongue depressor to apply the body sugaring around the outside edges of the lines you made on one of your eyebrows. You could also apply the sugaring with your fingers if necessary. Shape only one eyebrow at a time.
-
6
Place a cotton strip over your entire eyebrow. Press down firmly around the edges of the strip, making sure it sticks to the sugaring.
-
7
Grab one end of the cotton strip and quickly pull it off of your eyebrow, going in the opposite direction of hair growth.
-
8
Rub a small amount of face lotion into the skin around your eyebrow. Lotions with cooling, soothing ingredients, like chamomile, mint and cucumber, are particularly good for easing any post-sugaring irritation.

Tips & Warnings
Metal and plastic sugaring jars cannot be heated in the microwave. Heat them in a small amount of water or take the sugaring out of the jar and place it in a microwave-safe bowl.
Be extra careful not to get any of the sugaring mixture in your eyes. The lemon juice in the sugaring may cause your eyes to sting and the sugar itself may scratch your eye and cause damage. Minimize your risk by closing your eye or covering it with a cloth while you're working on the eyebrow above it.
