Step 1
Choose an outdoor wedding venue with many deciduous trees so you can get a myriad of fall colors in the scenery. If you are looking for venues in the winter, summer or spring, you'll have to use your imagination, but elms, maples, oaks and birches usually turn beautiful colors in autumn. Public parks, vineyards and orchards are great outdoor venues for fall weddings.

Step 2
Plan for cold weather. In temperate climate, fall temperatures can get very low, particularly later in the day and at night. Keep your guests and wedding party comfortable by renting gas patio heaters for the ceremony and reception areas.
-
Step 3
Reserve a tent with a heater in case of rain. A clear tent will allow you to still experience the fall colors from a protected enclosure.
-
Step 4
Choose harvest colors for your wedding like yellow, red, orange, cinnamon, gold or sage. These colors immediately connote a fall theme and will blend in well with the outdoor foliage.
-
Step 5
Incorporate pumpkins, gourds, corn, dried grains and fruit like apples and pomegranates into your decor. Traditionally, these elements symbolize the harvest season and add color and texture to centerpieces and other arrangements inexpensively.
-
Step 6
Send fall-themed invitations. Your invitations should notify your guests that the wedding will be outdoors, so they can plan their attire accordingly.
-
Step 7
Incorporate a cape, wrap or coat into the bridal ensemble. The bride should be kept warm as well, and there are many options to choose from in today's wedding fashions.
