Reality television has ensured that every Joe Schmoe will get his 15 minutes as long as he plays his cards right.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Personality
  • Ability to speak your mind
  • Talent (optional on some shows)
  • Strong opinions
  1. Step 1

Go to Web sites such as the ones listed below to find out which castings are taking place in your area

  2. Step 2

Think about your stand-out qualities and why they would help your chances of being cast. Make sure to play up these qualities during the casting.

  3. Step 3

Thank about why you would want to be cast on this show and make sure to let that shine throughout the casting.

  4. Step 4

Talk during every appropriate opportunity. Remember that these people are very busy and you have very little time with them so you need to have your personality shine right away.

  5. Step 5

Try to do something that the casting directors will remember you for.

Tips & Warnings
  • It's a good idea to be fairly familiar with the show you're auditioning for, that way you know what kind of people they're looking for. So make sure to do your homework and watch as many episodes of the show as possible
  • Even though loud, aggressive-seeming people make it onto reality shows often, it doesn't mean that this is the approach you should take if it's just not you. Just make sure that whoever you are comes across strongly to the directors

on 4/15/2009 Seems like it is getting tougher for people to get on shows as the economy tanking brought out over 800,000 people auditioning for the latest casting of "the biggest loser"
