Golf is easily an addictive game to play when you have 3 or more players. And unlike most card games, golf is more fun the more people you have playing it.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 decks of cards
  • 3 or More People
  • Pen and Paper
  1. Step 1

    Pick a dealer

  2. Step 2

Dealer deals each person 6 cards, face down.

  3. Step 3

Players arrange their cards 3 x 2, still face down.

  4. Step 4

Each player picks two cards to flip face up.

  5. Step 5

Dealer flips top card of unused portion of deck face up and places it next to the unused portion of the deck in the middle of the table.

  6. Step 6

The player who ends up with all their cards face up first, signifies the end of the play. Each person only gets one more turn around the table after this.

  7. Step 7

You want to get the least amount of points possible each hand. There are 9 rounds (of course, it's golf!).

  8. Step 8

    POINTS: Ace = 1
    Numbered cards = face value
Queen and Jack are each 10
    King = Zero
    Joker = -1

**If you have two cards which are identical in the pairs column (top to bottom), you 'zero out' that column. The exception would be two jokers which would be -2.

  9. Step 9

You can only turn over one card per turn, if you choose to turn one over. (you can trade cards with your face up cards instead)

  10. Step 10

Player to the left of the dealer picks either the card that is face up or the card on top of the deck.

  11. Step 11

They decide if they want to keep this card and trade it with any of their cards or to put it on the discard pile. If they trade, the one they traded with goes on the discard pile.

  12. Step 12

The next player again gets to choose between the discard pile and the unused deck and so on...

  13. Step 13

Score keeper adds each players points each round. At the end of the 9th round, the player with the least amount of points wins.

Tips & Warnings
  • Watch the players to each side of you. You can predict certain cards coming your way via discard pile. You also need to be careful not to accidentally give the person to your left a matching card for their hand via the discard pile, unless you have to.
  • Be careful not to flip your last card until you're ready to go out.
  • Most people play that if someone goes out first and someone else beats their score (lower points), the one who went out gets their points doubled.

on 12/1/2007 I remember relatives playing this when I was a kid, and for the life of me I couldn't remember the rules. Thanks! Now I can try it in my own home.
