Things You'll Need:
- Open mind
- Ability to listen to people only if it's good for you
- Patience
-
Step 1
Let me clear the air. This may sound bad, but you need to know this. Not everyone you love is good. Not everyone you love and care about is there for you. Some people are negative and are there to watch you fall.
-
Step 2
When you are motivated about something, you feel alive and you are on a high. Other people around you are jealous and don't want to see you succeed or be happy. Now this isn't everyone, but a lot of people are bitter and don't want you to be happy. They will come at you from every angle and are known as dream killers. They may pretend to support you, but in the end, there is always something wrong with your dream.
-
Step 3
To stay motivated, you need to find those rare people out there who are full of light--those people who believe you can do anything you want to, those people who make it happen themselves. Like the saying goes, if you want to soar like an eagle, you need to hang around with eagles.
-
Step 4
To stay motivated, you need to be around motivated people. Nothing will kill your energy more than to be around slackers or people who don't believe in advancing in life.
-
Step 5
Never give up. No matter what you hear, or see, always believe. You have your dream for a reason. If Thomas Edison had given up, we wouldn't have power. If Albert Einstein had given up, we wouldn't have E=MC2. No one can tell you your dream won't succeed; only you can give someone that power.

on 1/31/2009 Hi, thanks for your comments. I still believe in this method. It's best to hang out with good people, sure you can love your enemies, but you can do that from far away. And being around positive people, makes you more likely to be positive.

on 1/28/2009 I don't agree with most of what this person has said about staying motivated. Motivation is either intrinsic or extrinsic, in other words, controlled by inner forces or by outer forces - the opinions of others over your core beliefs. The key is to build up your intrinsic or self empowerment and listening to those who have this ability - to the point where extrinsic forces will not have significant sway over you accomplishing what it is you really desire to achieve. If you don't ever listen to or "love" others who are bitter and/or negative then you are shallow. They might have a key to helping you build intrinsic "muscles" and thus lead by example. Many spiritual leaders have found and relayed this truth but Jesus said it best, "Love your enemies." You don't have to do what your enemies want you to do if it runs contrary to your core beliefs or would enable you to cause harm to someone b

However, it's easier to stay motivated if you can keep your goals on track. Try a new goal setting web site called GoalsOnTrack.com
