How to Stay Motivated in Life
Stay motivated by embracing what inspires you the most in life and maintaining a positive attitude, regardless of what trials you encounter. Motivation takes work, but in time you can develop the desire and energy that will drive you to get a promotion, lose weight or nurture relationships. You can start to create the life you want by making small changes: Keep your goals in mind, enlist the help of friends and seek out others on the same path. Don't let obstacles break your spirit, and get right back up every time you fall.

1
Write down goals based on what you really want in life. Set small, achievable goals, and read your goals every day to remind yourself of what you are trying to accomplish. Write down a list of daily tasks that can help you reach your goals. If you need to lose weight, plan a workout session, count calories or find a workout buddy. Writing down your goals is the first step, but you need to take action to stay motivated.
-
2
Surround yourself with people who support you and will help you stay motivated. Negative people can bring you down and quickly diminish your motivation. Choose your friends wisely and only share your goals with people who offer love and support.

3
Create a dream board adorned with pictures that symbolize your goals. Hang a bulletin board above your desk or in your room. Tack pictures from magazines or photos that inspire you onto the bulletin board. Put your goal list here so you can easily remember to read it every day.
-
4
Join a support group and make it a priority to attend meetings. You can find support groups centered on weight loss, relationships and career changes.
-
5
Take a class that helps you accomplish your goals. Many fitness centers offer classes as part of your membership. Attending classes also introduces you to people who have the same or similar goals. See if you can find a free zero-credit career class at a community college if your goal is to change careers.

Hi, thanks for your comments. I still believe in this method. It's best to hang out with good people, sure you can love your enemies, but you can do that from far away. And being around positive people, makes you more likely to be positive. -

I don't agree with most of what this person has said about staying motivated. Motivation is either intrinsic or extrinsic, in other words, controlled by inner forces or by outer forces - the opinions of others over your core beliefs. The key is to build up your intrinsic or self empowerment and listening to those who have this ability - to the point where extrinsic forces will not have significant sway over you accomplishing what it is you really desire to achieve. If you don't ever listen to or "love" others who are bitter and/or negative then you are shallow. They might have a key to helping you build intrinsic "muscles" and thus lead by example. Many spiritual leaders have found and relayed this truth but Jesus said it best, "Love your enemies." You don't have to do what your enemies want you to do if it runs contrary to your core beliefs or would enable you to cause harm to someone b
