Things You'll Need:
- Make up
- Make up accessories
- Razor
- Shave Gel
- Blow Dryer
-
Step 1
Shave! Forget what you've heard, a modern feminist realizes that the better you look, the better you feel. Besides, wearing a business suit with hairy legs is as unacceptable as your male counterpart sporting a beard.
-
Step 2
Wear make up when and if you feel you need it. Don't succumb to pressure and wear make up 'just because', but don't go barefaced when you've pulled an all-nighter or you might scare off potential clients. In business, you must also look the part in addition to being great at your job.
-
Step 3
Wear comfortable clothes, but still look feminine. Get rid of garters and pantyhose if you find them undesirable, but find a way to look good when you go to work. Being a feminist doesn't have to be synonymous with bad fashion sense.
-
Step 4
Stop hating men. Being a feminist is about equality, not hate. By the current feminist rationale, being equal to a man means being equal to a hormonal Neanderthal.
-
Step 5
Keep the bra! Unless you're an A cup, going without a bra all day isn't an option, much less a comfortable option. Furthermore, who wants saggy breasts at 30 years old? The main purpose of the bra is to keep them perky, not droopy.
-
Step 6
Be yourself. Being a modern feminist isn't about fitting into a particular stereotype, it's about being yourself while you conquer the world. Whether you wear a bra, shave your legs, or have children has nothing to do with your ability to succeed as a woman.

on 9/3/2009 this article is annoying to say the least- just cause i fit your stereotype of a braless, male-hating, hairy feminist doesn't mean i'm gonna go around making fun of women who don't choose to do, look, or act how i do. feminism is about women having the power to make choices for themselves. Catty, woman-bashing is part of the feminist critique. as are the reasons why a woman might or might not wear bras, dislike men (culture of reape), and not shave (besides- why is it "better looking" to be as hairless as a young girl or child- why are women expected to remain childlike?). i see the strategy of this article- but i honestly feel this is a reactionary opinion to feeling like your feminism has been invalidated by others. but, truly, the only invalidating factors should be when someone's beliefs don't foster a CULTURE of female/ feminist empowerment.

"Stop hating men."
It never was, and most never did. Do your research.
