Instructions

    • 1

Exfoliate your legs to remove dead layers of skin. If the skin on your legs is even, your razor will have an easier time running over its surface. This step can be done hours before -- or even the night before -- you shave.

    • 2

Take a hot shower or bath and let your legs soak and be exposed to water and steam, which will soften hair follicles. Allow a few minutes for the hair to soften by washing the rest of your body or hydrating your legs with a moisturizing body wash.

    • 3

Lather your legs with shaving cream or gel as lubrication for the razor.

    • 4

Shave the hair on your legs by making long, slow, smooth strokes. Short or choppy motions are more likely to result in cuts. Shave in the same direction that the hair grows to avoid irritation.

    • 5

Moisturize after you're done to help prevent your skin from becoming dry, irritated and itchy.

Tips & Warnings

  • Store your razor in a clean, dry place to keep it from harboring bacteria, which can get under the skin to cause a rash or infection.

  • Sensitive skin may still experience temporary redness or swelling after shaving.
