1
Clip or trim your hair on your chest. Chest hair needs to be at least 1/4 inch long before waxing and preferably no longer than 1/2 inch. It is painful to try to rip a hair out that is 2 inches long. Set the clippers on a low setting (usually 3 or 4) and proceed to trim your chest hair in preparation for the chest wax.

Heat and spread the wax over your chest. There are 2 types of chest hair wax. One which is heated and another which is spread and then covered with paper strips. The important part is that you follow the specific directions of your package. Most heated waxes are microwave-friendly. Simply pop them in for the allotted time and they are ready to go. Be sure to spread the wax in an even manner.

Cover your wax with the provided paper strips. Again, some waxes merely harden and are ready for removal without paper strips. However most wax kits require that you cover the wax with the thin provided paper strips as it is cooling on the chest.

4
Rip your chest hairs off your skin. There is no delicate way to put this, as it probably will hurt. The only upside is that the pain will lessen over time and the hairs will become thinner and may eventually disappear.

5
Finish the chest wax process with a light moisturizer that you can spread over your skin to help calm it where the hair used to be. You may also want to roam around the house shirtless, or with only a cotton t-shirt on for the next few hours. Avoid abrasive materials such as wool against your skin.
