Step 1
Research. The first thing you will want to do is research virtual makeovers to see what kind of software and online programs there are to choose from. Some are programs you can download and use, while others are well-known companies, such as Mary Kay, inviting you to use their free makeover tool at their site.
-
Step 2
Pick a couple of the sites from your research and research them again from a closer stand point. Check the cost or any catch, if there is one, for the virtual makeover. Verify whether you have to buy something, register, or join a membership of any kind to do the virtual makeover. Find the site with the easiest, cheapest virtual makeover for you that has the features you are looking for.
-
Step 3
Go to the website of the virtual makeover you have chosen. You will need to upload a picture of yourself or choose from the models they give you. If choosing a model, you will want to find the one with the skin tone and eye color closest to your own.
-
Step 4
Save or print your makeover. You have the option of saving the before and after or printing it out for reference the next time you are shopping for make-up colors or doing your make-up. Take the time to play around with it a little. Do the model's make-up as you normally do and you may find it looks terrible. Then experiment to find a better look for yourself.
