How to Print Comments in Excel

Comments can be inserted into an Excel spreadsheet for various reasons. You may find that you would like to print those comments out along with your spreadsheet. This requires you to follow a process where you make a simple change to your page setup options and then print the spreadsheet with the comments. The steps below will take your through that process.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Microsoft Excel 2003

Step1
Start Microsoft Excel and open a spreadsheet that contains comments that you would like to print along with your spreadsheet.
Step2
Choose the "File" menu and click "Page Setup" to bring up the "Page Setup" dialog box. Within the "Page Setup" dialog box, you can make different changes that will affect the pages of your spreadsheet.
Step3
Click on the "Sheet" tab at the top of the "Page Setup" dialog box to show the sheet page setup options.
Step4
Locate the "Print" section of the "Sheet" options, in the center of the "Page Setup" dialog box.
Step5
Select either "At end of sheet" or "As displayed on sheet" options from the "Comments" drop-down menu. The "At end of sheet" option will print the comments from the spreadsheet at the end of each sheet, and the "As displayed on sheet" option will print the comments just as they appear on the spreadsheet while it's open on your screen.
Step6
Press the "OK" button with your mouse to close the "Page Setup" dialog box and set Excel to print comments that appear on your spreadsheets.
Step7
Print the spreadsheet by choosing the "File" menu, clicking on "Print" and then printing from the "Print" dialog box.
