Restylane is cosmetic dermal filler that adds volume and fullness to skin. Doctors use this it to correct wrinkles and folds, augment lips and contour facial areas, such as lips and cheeks.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stay sober. You may be tempted to have a glass of wine after treatment, but it is not recommended. Patients are advised to avoid alcohol for at least 6 hours afterwards.

  2. Step 2

Take it easy. The best thing you can do to recover from a Restylane treatment is relax. You should even take a few days off from your workout routine.

  3. Step 3

Keep your hands to yourself. You should see immediate results from your Restylane treatment. However, fight the urge to touch the treated area. It must stay clean and free of irritants and bacteria.

  4. Step 4

Skip outdoor activities. Your skin will be more sensitive than usual. To recover from a Restylane treatment, avoid exposure to the elements, especially the sun.

  5. Step 5

Watch for side effects. Redness and swelling are common side effects and should be expected. These symptoms should subside in two to three days. Consult your doctor if they persist for seven or more days, or if anything unusual occurs.

Tips & Warnings
  • Avoid taking St. John's Wort or high doses of vitamin E for one week prior to treatment.
