Body odor isn't fun for anyone, especially the person running everyone else out of the room with his personal aroma. Perhaps you're looking to address the problem of body odor by switching to a deodorant soap. Here are some things you can do to get you on your way to smelling better.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Decide on a type. Deodorant soaps can be scented, unscented and antibacterial. If you have an excessive body odor problem, consider using a combination deodorant/antibacterial soap to kill off any odor-causing bacteria and to remove the smell.
Step2
Read the fine print. If you have especially sensitive skin, read the list of ingredients in the deodorant soap to make sure that your skin won't be irritated by changing soap brands. If you're reacting to the soap, consider a milder alternative or a glycerin soap.
Step3
Go online and review different websites and read feedback from customers about the different products available (see Resources below). Check to see which brands received positive feedback and which ones received less-than-positive feedback. Don't waste your money purchasing something that has received terrible reviews.
Step4
Test-drive your purchase. Once you have found a brand that seems to have good reviews, won't irritate your skin and fits your needs, buy a bar and give it a test run.
Step5
Consult with your doctor if your deodorant soap seems to make no difference. See if there are other options available to you to address the problem.

Tips & Warnings

  • Deodorant soap can be drying to the skin. If you like the benefits of deodorant soap but your skin is drying out, invest in a thicker body moisturizer to slather on after your shower.
