Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
Step1
Cut your plywood into a square big enough to set all your pedals on and have some room for one or two more. For most players, a sheet about 1 1/2-by-1 1/2 feet should do it.
Step2
Saw the 2-by-2 lumber in three 1 1/2-foot lengths. Make sure they are the same length as your square.
Step3
Attach the lumber, using drywall or other wood screws, to each edge and down the middle of your square piece of plywood. Make sure the screws don't go through the wood and into the floor.
Step4
Prepare another square of plywood the same size as the first and screw it to the back of your homemade pedal board. Cut plywood strips to trim the top and bottom.
Step5
Paint the pedal board with black paint and let dry. Black spray paint is the easiest to work with, but be sure you use it outside or in a well ventilated area and protect the area for over-spray. After you spray the homemade pedal board, you may want to put a handle on the top end for the roadies.
Step6
Attach strips of heavy duty black Velcro to your pedal board. You may want to screw the strips in place every 3 inches or so unless you are sure of their adhesion. Attach the other side of the Velcro to the backs of your pedals.
Step7
Configure your pedals in the way you are used to using them and hook them up. Now you are ready to rock the house.
