How to Create a Photo Gallery in FrontPage

A smart way to display a set of pictures on your website is by creating a photo gallery for your Microsoft FrontPage website. This will automatically create thumbnails from your chosen images and display them in an attractive photo gallery with custom settings that you get to choose. Read on to learn how to create a photo gallery in FrontPage.

Things You'll Need:

  • Microsoft FrontPage 2003
  1. Step 1

    Open Microsoft FrontPage and start a new blank document that you can add a photo gallery to, or open an existing web page that you would like to add a photo gallery to.

  2. Step 2

    Click the "Design" button at the bottom of the screen to make sure that you are in design view.

  3. Step 3

    Use your mouse to click in your document where you would like the photo gallery to be added.

  4. Step 4

    Choose the "Insert" menu and click on "Web Component" to open the "Insert Web Component" dialog box.

  5. Step 5

    Select the "Photo Gallery" option from the "Component Type" list in the "Insert Web Component" dialog box and choose a photo gallery option from the right. You can choose to arrange the photos horizontally, as a montage, as a slide show or arrange them vertically on the page.

  6. Step 6

    Click the "Finish" button on the "Insert Web Component" dialog box to make your photo gallery choice, and open the "Photo Gallery Properties" dialog box.

  7. Step 7

    Use the options in the "Photo Gallery Properties" dialog box to choose your settings for your photo gallery. In this dialog box you can choose what pictures you would like to appear in your photo gallery, what order you want them in, what size you want them to appear, the captions and descriptions you want for each photo and the formatting options you want to apply to all the text you are using.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you decide you would like to change the layout of your photo gallery option, choose the "Layout" tab from the "Photo Gallery Properties" dialog box to make a new selection.
