How to Vacuum a Dog
Excess hair makes a dog uncomfortable. It also contributes to allergies and respiratory problems in people. Dog owners wage a constant battle to remove hair from carpet and furniture, particularly during shedding times. Vacuum the dog, instead of the surroundings, to capture most of the hair before it spreads around the house.

Tips & Warnings
A dog with long hair requires about 20 minutes to vacuum. A dog with short hair requires less time.
Soak a cotton ball or piece of tissue in flea repellent. Place it inside the vacuum bag before starting. This will kill any fleas and flea eggs suctioned from the dog.
Never use a high suction setting to vacuum a dog. It will pull at the skin instead of the hair. The loud sound can also frighten the dog.
Don't vacuum the tail. A dog prefers not to be touched in this area.
