It used to be that a classic car was any preserved vintage. Now, classic car shows can refer to several categories of classics from the fifties, sixties and seventies including vintage trucks, racers, pony cars and custom vintage. If you want to enter a classic car show it's fairly easy to find one that's specific to your style almost anywhere.
Read on to learn how to enter a classic car in a car show.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Locate a classic car club in your state or find a good online classic car site for full descriptions of car shows. If you have trouble, call a classic car dealer to give you the information.

  2. Step 2

Attend a car club meeting or ask for their newsletter. A car club will know all the dates and specifics of events and it will give you a chance to talk to other owners about restoration techniques, car show tips and hard to know information like where to find used parts.

  3. Step 3

Choose a car show that suits your car and you. Some are for profit while many are fundraisers. Some have a parade and lots of other events surrounding the show like silent auctions, raffles, awards, live music and fun stuff for kids.

  4. Step 4

Register early because space is almost always limited. The larger car shows will cost more to enter even though they won't fill up as fast. Charity car shows may have a free registration or ask you to bring something relating to the fundraiser like an unwrapped toy for children in need.

Tips & Warnings
  • Designate your car just to show or to sell although some shows will lump them together.
