Networking is an important part of finding any type of job, including those in the telemarketing industry. Finding a good call center to work for or legitimate work-at-home jobs requires knowing the right places to look and finding the right people to talk to. Here is how to network to find a great telemarketing job.

From Quick Guide: Telemarketing Jobs
Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

View job postings on sites such as Monster or Careerbuilder. These sites almost always have postings for telemarketing positions. You can see what the industry climate is and get a good overall feel for what's available in call centers.

  2. Step 2

Join a Yahoo! group specializing in telemarketing like "Dustcatchers." These groups not only help you network to find a great telemarketing job by connecting you with people who are in the industry, they also provide encouragement for those times when you are getting nothing but a negative response from your customers.

  3. Step 3

Try a temporary agency. A telemarketing job recruiter through a temp agency is specially skilled in networking, and he does this on your behalf. Try companies like Aerotek which specializes in finding telemarketing jobs and other more technical positions.

  4. Step 4

Network with friends and family. Make sure you tell all of them that you are looking for a telemarketing job. Chances are that one of them knows someone in the telemarketing field and they can help you network to find one that fits your needs.

  5. Step 5

Visit craigslist or MySpace to network with others and find jobs. Craigslist offers discussion forums and job posting, while MySpace has blogs, forums and groups where you can network with others to find telemarketing jobs.

  6. Step 6

Search networking websites such as Telemarketing Job Site, Women for Hire and WAHM. These sites gives links to legitimate work-at-home telemarketing jobs, a general idea of what's out there and opportunities to network with others.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't pay for training and networking services. The companies that do this type of service are sometimes shady, so stay away if you think you might be getting taken advantage of.

on 9/16/2009 Searching for jobs today is like finding a pin in a haystack, more difficult still, because there are not many pins out there, and the haystack is huge. The job market is depreciatingly low and we, the job seekers are bearing the brunt of the recession. It is with deep gratitude I say, Hound, created by Harrison Barnes in 2007, helped me out of the rubble.
