Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Karaoke or sing-along
  • Research materials
  1. Step 1

Purchase a Karaoke or Sing-Along machine. Your child can practice at home with the proper equipment. Invest in the ones that can last a long time and that has no bad feedback.

  2. Step 2

Enroll your child in voice lessons. You can either do this by enrolling your child in group music classes or hiring a personal voice instructor. The voice instructor can teach your child the breathing techniques, proper way to open mouth, tongue placement while singing, proper pronunciation of vowels and words, reading notes and style of singing. The instructor will give you an honest feedback if your child would really have what it takes to be a singer. Take every constructive criticisms and suggestions that the instructor may have to improve your child's performance and singing voice.

  3. Step 3

Encourage your child to practice all the time. Singing maybe simple to some but for those who want to make a career out of singing, it is hard work. If your child is serious about becoming a professional singer, you have to encourage your child to practice regularly.

  4. Step 4

Make sure that your child avoid drinking ice cold water or extremely hot drinks. Give them lukewarm or room temperature drinks. Make sure to avoid drinks that are high in caffeine and sugar for they do have a tendency to ruin a voice. Water is the best drink that your child can have. It is also good for the child's over all health.

  5. Step 5

Make sure your child does not sleep late. A lack of sleep can make it hard or difficult for a child to sing the next morning. Always encourage your child to sleep early or on time. A full 8-hour sleep is highly recommended.

  6. Step 6

Have your child participate in talent or singing shows and competitions. Whether in schools, community events, or any kind of singing competitions so that your child will experience singing in front of a live audience. This experience will also help your child manage their stage fright.

  7. Step 7

Go to singing auditions. Once our child is ready, you can now to take him or her to auditions. Give your child a boost of encouragement for your child to keep trying his or her best.

  8. Step 8

Have a demo tape of you child handy. Record a demo tape of your child and send it to talent agencies or recording studios. Bring it with you at all times. You'll never know who you will meet or of there is an impromptu audition somewhere. Everyday there are agents and scouts out there looking for the next big thing. You'll never know, the next big thing maybe your child.

  9. Step 9

Give a boost of encouragement and confidence to your child. It is tough when your child doesn't feel that he or she doesn't have your support. You can be supportive as well as tell your child the harsh truth about the difficulty of trying to achieve this dream. But no matter what, you have to go all the way to support your child's dream so that your child can achieve his or her own full potential.

  10. Step 10

Sign up with a talent agency. If your child has what it takes, you can hire an agent who will keep on looking for opportunities and that big break for your child. Just make sure to check references and do not sign anything without reading the fine print. Do not fall prey to unscrupulous people who are just out there to take your money but do not do any actual work for you. To ensure that they are doing their job, have a regular meeting scheduled with the agency and have them show you what work they have done at a given time. There may not always be a positive result but, at least, they should show that they are working hard for your child and that you are getting what you have paid for.

  11. Step 11

Encourage your child to create his or her own unique style. Aside from being a good singer, nowadays talent scouts are looking for that unique style. Help your child develop that unique singing style that can grab the talent scouts and producers' attention.

  12. Step 12

Have your child compose an original music. Encourage your child to compose his or her own songs. If your child can compose his or her own music, he or she has a better chance of being noticed. Make sure to have the music copyrighted so that no one can steal your child's original music.

  13. Step 13

Be realistic and be honest. If in the end your child turns out not to have what it takes- meaning, if your child cannot sing, then know when to stop pursuing this dream. You will just prolong the inevitable, which will hurt your child more in the end if you are not honest. It is better that your child hears it from you than from others. Continue to give praises to your child for trying his or her best and then focus your child's energy on something else that he or she can pursue next.

  • Invest in a quality equipment that your child can use for a long time.
  • Spend your money wisely.

on 1/20/2008 We have the PS/2 game, it came with it. It's so fun. Turning on the radio does wonders as well.
Some kids can be self-conscious, so try to be discretely complimentary and supportive.
