You're interested in a concert but have not gotten around to getting the tickets, and now they're sold out. Here are some tips to get them on the day of or before the concert.

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet Connection
  1. Step 1

The number one place to visit is usually Craigslist. There are online scalpers abound, ready to let go of tickets for sold out concerts. Your best bet, is to wait the day of the concert, as late as possible and contact these 'merchants' with ridiculously low prices. Some might bite, you never know.

  2. Step 2

Ebay is a good alternative, if you have at least one day left before the concert. There will always be tickets for sale, but the good thing is, you will probably have the opportunity to buy these tickets and pick them up from the seller if he/she is local.

  3. Step 3

Ticketmaster and the promoter might release last-minute tickets. Always check back on the site to see if these are available. Do not have too much hope with this method, but it's a good backup plan.

  4. Step 4

Last but not least, try the scalpers at the concert itself. Make sure the ticket is legit. If you're going with a friend that already has a ticket, then compare the tickets, and look for watermarks or stickers. Most of the time, these scalpers offer these tickets at ridiculous prices. If so, keep walking. They will get more and more desperate as the evening wears on and they realize no one's willing to shell out the bucks that they demand. You might be able to come back to the same person and offer them a deal they can't refuse then.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be brave, ask strangers on the street if they have seen any scalpers. Chances are, they are around.
  • Do not carry too much cash. Show them that you have only a certain amount and that's it.
  • Always check for authentic information on the tickets you are purchasing. You never know when you are truly being scalped.
