Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

It is necessary to remember that this child is a blessing regardless of their disease. Then choosing a pediatric cancer doctor, this must be a person you feel you can trust as well as a person you understand and like.

  2. Step 2

Remember that, there may be several different issues regarding development of this beautiful child, from delayed speech and other developmental delays, frustration is expected. Do not take that frustration out on the child.

  3. Step 3

Listen to the specialists suggestions and ideas as to what steps to take, and always remember that if what that doctor says is not something that you agree with, you can get a 2nd 3rd, etc opinion on the situation.

  4. Step 4

Most of all, remember to acknowledge everyone you know, especially that child, at least on a daily basis and preferably more often, of how much you love and cherish them.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not be afraid to ask for help for anything to try and reduce the emotional stress, anxiety, frustration, etc......
  • Remember, the doctor may state that the future could be short, that the doctors only say how they see it not how life has things planed for each of our lives.
