How to Wear a Dress in the Fall/Winter
Don't stash your cute summer dresses at the back of the closet when temperatures start to fall. Instead, look at some of your tops, both summer and winter, and see which you can pair with those dresses. If you own a sweater dress, go bold with strong winter accessories to help you ward off the chill. Don't forget about layering your clothing so that, when the day is cold, you're covered and, as the temperatures warm up, you can remove a layer.

Team boots with your dress. Slip into a pair of riding boots with a dress that stops just above the knees. Depending on the style of your dress, a short pair of ankle boots can add to the look of your dress.

2
Pair a blazer -- choose either the boyfriend or girlfriend version -- over your dress.

3
Slip into a pair of opaque tights as you are getting ready for your day. When you wear a pair of dark blue, dark gray or black tights under a patterned summer dress, you are creating a whole new look.

4
Accessorize your look with a wrapped scarf or a cowl with a short sleeved summer dress. Keep the cowl on inside so it becomes a part of your day's outfit. Use the scarf as outerwear or as part of the outfit as well, depending on its thickness.

5
Put on a long-sleeve turtleneck made from thin fabric, then add a sleeveless dress. Layering helps to keep you warm.

6
Team a wool sweater dress with tights and tall boots. As you are looking fashionable, you're also staying warm when the temperature dips down.
