How to Block an Email on Gmail

Gmail is a Web-based email program created by Google. Gmail filters spam into a separate folder, but it does not offer the ability to directly block a certain email address from sending you a message. However, Gmail does allow you to create a filters that will send messages directly to the trash folder so they don't clutter up your inbox. This will effectively prevent you from having to view messages from the specific email address.

      Go to Gmail and log in.

      Click the "Settings" option on the right side of the page and click "Settings" from the drop-down menu.

      Click on the "Filters" option.

      Click "Create a New Filter."

      Enter the email address you want to block in the From field and click the "Create a Filter with this Search" option.

      Select the "Delete it" option.
