While blushing June brides were once something of a tradition, it has grown more popular to schedule an autumn wedding. The cooler weather more comfortable in most locales, and the autumn colors can beautify your setting. Use the tips below for finding the perfect autumn wedding dress.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose the right fabric. Most autumn brides choose to go with lightweight fabric. Silk is the most popular, since it is lightweight yet versatile.

  2. Step 2

Choose a sleeveless style. Autumn weather can vary - temperatures can plunge from the afternoon to the evening - and this fashion choice works well while it is warm. If the weather cools, you can drape a matching wrap or shawl over your arms and shoulders.

  3. Step 3

Consider choosing a different color than white. Even though a white bridal gown is the tradition, different colors such as soft golden tones or light champagne colors can look quite smashing with the autumn colors you use for flowers.

  4. Step 4

Go with a long, full-length style. Not only are full-length gowns more formal, but shorter tea-length gowns should be saved for summer weddings. Pair a long gown with a delicate pair of bridal boots for a stylish autumn wedding look.

  5. Step 5

Consider which accessories can be worn with the dress. This helps in choosing a style and color. Wear a sash tied around your waist to match the fall-colored bridesmaid dresses. Don't plan on wearing spring flowers in your hair for a fall wedding. Also don't plan on a fur mantle, which should be reserved for winter.
