What is going on with the new property taxes? How are the taxes determined on existing homes? I know that if your home has (as many homes in Puerto Rico do) a seperate entrance from the outside to each floor an additionl rental property tax is imposed. I know this because my sister has been paying that tax for many years now even though the downstairs is only used by her children when they visit from the states. Again what are the new taxes and how are they determined? Information on this is vague and the municipal office is no help.
