Mini golf is an enjoyable activity that is very social, easy to find, inexpensive and great for dates. The goal of mini golf is to put the ball into the hole while overcoming a series of obstacles on short and fun courses. Here's how to improve your putting.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Ensure that you have the correct equipment to improve your mini golf putting. When selecting a putter, pick one that is the correct length. Putters come in various lengths from 32 to 42 inches in length.

  2. Step 2

Hold the putter with your left hand at the bottom and your right hand at the top as if you are shaking hands.

  3. Step 3

Practice your swing by standing fully erect with the putter in your hands. Bend at the waist so that the putter base is parallel and just off the floor. When you look directly down, you should see the top of the putter head. Get into a comfortable position before putting.

  4. Step 4

Get three golf balls and line them up in a row. Select a target approximately 2 feet away on a flat surface. Walk up to the ball and hit the ball with the putter with the aim of reaching your target. See where the ball stops and evaluate. Did it need more speed or less? Hit the second ball to the same target, using less or more force to reach the target, repeat with the third ball.

  5. Step 5

Practice this exercise 5 to 10 times on various surfaces. This will help you to gage the force required to make the ball go a specific distance. The more you practice, the better you will become.

  6. Step 6

Set up three golf balls, but place four cups in a line, with a small gap between each to allow a golf ball to pass. The first space should be the size of three balls, the second, two balls and the third one. Line up the golf balls two feet away and hit the first ball through the first space. Watch the aim and direction of your putter head. Repeat with the other two gaps, improving your aim each time.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember when lining up your stroke to line up the putter with the ball. The best place to hit the ball is the center of the club. With practice this becomes easier.
