How to Park a Classic Vespa

I Did This Rate: (3 Ratings)

The Classic Vespa has a dual kickstand and is lightweight and easily parked. The look and style of the Classic Vespa makes it a great in-city ride. Learning to put the Vespa in park should be practiced in the driveway to gain fluidity of motion.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Park a classic Vespa in a protected spot. Because it is smaller than a motorcycle and lightweight, the Vespa can be parked on a sidewalk or on the side of a bike rack, so finding a parking spot is not difficult.
Step2
Plant one foot firmly on the ground for support and point the toes slightly to the side to prevent slipping.
Step3
Engage the kickstand with the opposite heel and push downwards. The kickstand should be well lubricated to allow for ease of use.
Step4
Grasp the handlebars firmly with both hands. Squeeze the brakes and pull back on the Vespa. Shift the weight towards the back of the seat and gently pull the Vespa onto the engaging kickstand. This should be all one smooth motion.
Step5
Lock the Vespa. Do not leave valuables with the Vespa.
