If you find yourself sending the same email to several people, you might want to set up a mailing list. With this list, you can email several people at once without choosing each email address separately.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access
  • Outlook Express
  1. Step 1

Open up Outlook Express. Click the "Addresses" icon on the toolbar. The "Address Book" window opens up.

  2. Step 2

Click the "New" icon on the toolbar, and then "New Group." If you cannot see the toolbar, click "File" and then "New Group." The "Properties" window opens up.

  3. Step 3

Choose a name for your group and type the name in the "Group Name" box. Click the "Select Members" button on the right.

  4. Step 4

Click a name from your "Contacts" list. Click the "Select" button. Click another name from the list and click "Select" again. Continue choosing names until you complete your list.

  5. Step 5

Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the box when your selection is complete. You will return to the "Properties" box. Click "OK" if you are finished. You can add a new contact by clicking the "New Contact" button and filling in the information needed.

  6. Step 6

Click "Remove" if you want to remove someone from your mailing list. The rest of the names will remain.

  7. Step 7

Close the "Address Book" by clicking the "x" on the right. The "Group Name" now appears in your "Contacts" box at the beginning or at the end of your list of contacts. It has the icon of a person next to it.

  8. Step 8

Add a new member by right clicking on the group name. Choose "Properties" from the list. Click "Select Members" and choose more members as you did before. Click "OK" to close the "Properties" box. Click "OK" to close the window.

  9. Step 9

Use the mailing list by choosing the group name when you write your next email. A good way to do this is to put your own name in the "To:" box and the group name in the "BCC" box. This way no one sees anyone else's email address.
