If you use Hotmail, you may want to check your other email accounts every time you log into Hotmail without having to actually go to the other accounts. You can do this with Hotmail by following a few simple steps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Log into your Hotmail account. Click on the "Options" button. Then click on "Send and Receive Mail From Other Email Accounts."

  2. Step 2

Choose "Add a POP3 Account." Enter the settings for this account and choose "Save." This sets up email forwarding to your Hotmail account. Decide if you want your messages to be left on this server or forwarded and deleted.

  3. Step 3

Determine if your other email has the ability to forward mail and choose to forward it to your Hotmail account as another option to check other email accounts with Hotmail.

  4. Step 4

Go to the email account you want to check and open it. Now choose "options" and select "email forwarding."

  5. Step 5

Follow the directions on this page. This consists of entering the Hotmail account address into the box provided. Then choose "Forward." You then have the option to leave the mail on this server or delete after forwarding.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don't plan to log into the accounts that you are forwarding the emails from, you should choose "Forward and Delete." Otherwise, if you leave messages in the inbox, the account can fill up and you can't receive any new mail until you free up some storage space.

on 9/2/2009 I recently discovered that an account I had a long time ago through Juno was listed under my POP account list to be forwarded to my hotmail account. I have not used my juno account in many many years, but the status under this request in from 4 months ago. I do not recall ever attempting to have my juno account forwarded to my hotmail account, but I definitely don't remember attempting to set this up 4 months ago. If this request of mail to be fowarded was placed many years ago, does it get updated each year? This would explain how after these many years of not remembering my juno account, I found the status of the POP request to be unable to retrieve information from the juno server.
