How to Write a Business Plan for a Gym

A good business plan is a way to get investors as well as make wise plans about your business. Communities and residents appreciate a gym where people can workout and get in shape. Read on and find out what you need to do to get your gym business plan in order.

Instructions

    • 1

Study business plans. All have three broad categories: business finances, particulars of your business industry and details about your potential market and competition.

    • 2

Look at online business plans for a gym, books on business plans or visit your local small business development center for more ideas and help.

    • 3

Think about your dream gym in more detail and specifics. Imagine what kind of gym you want. How big? What kind of equipment? Will it grow into a streamlined high-class gym with top-of-the-line equipment, including a sauna and professional staff?

    • 4

Consider adding something extra to your gym that will make it stand out from other gyms across your town. Maybe you will teach martial arts to children, sponsor yoga or Pilates classes, sell body-building products or have classes for the elderly.

    • 5

Take into considerations all the factors directly affecting your decisions, your dreams and plans, your pocketbook, and the future and present of your business and draft up your plan accordingly.

    • 6

Write you plan. Draw up your 10 to 20-page business plan for a gym into more specific sections: an executive summary, a business description, marketing plans, analysis of competition, business blueprint and implementation, management and operations and finances. Include a table of contents, cover and title page as well.

    • 7

Remember your exit strategy. Will you sell your business later, start another business or move to New York to pursue your modeling career? Think about the big and long-term pictures.
