Nintendo's Wii console is easily one of the most popular home entertainment systems of all time. It brings next generation gaming to a broader audience, and makes it easy for families and even big parties to sit down and enjoy an evening of casual gaming together. Wii owners can register their consoles to receive emails about new products, as well as receive content tailored specifically to them.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Nintendo Wii
  1. Step 1

Head to Nintendo's Registration website (see Resources below). New users and returning members can register their consoles from within this domain, as well as contact customer service with questions.

  2. Step 2

Click the "Click here to become a member of My Nintendo and register your newly purchased Wii" link to create a new My Nintendo account if you don't already have one. Click on the "click here to register your Wii now!" link if you are already a member of My Nintendo.

  3. Step 3

Enter your birth date and click the "Sign Up" button when starting the entire registration/account creation process. If you're already a member, then you can simply type in your username and password in the appropriate field and click the "Log In" button.

  4. Step 4

Enter your Wii console serial number into the "Wii" field once you have logged in or completed account creation. You can also register other consoles or handhelds on this page, as well as up to four games you currently own.

  5. Step 5

Click the "Submit" link once you have finished filling in all appropriate serial numbers. Double-check your typing to ensure that you haven't made a mistake (invalid numbers will be returned as such if you submit them, but you'll be able to go back and retype if you make a mistake).

Tips & Warnings
  • Pay close attention to any VIP Wii events going on in your area. Often there will be cool giveaways for those who register their Wii consoles, including t-shirts, game guides and even free games!
  • When you register your console, you are given a warranty extension, helping to insure your investment. This warranty provides another 90 days of coverage should anything happen to your Wii.
  • Be aware that Nintendo may share your information with third parties. If you do not want your personal contact information disseminated, then you may want to forgo registering any Wii consoles. However, you will lose out on special offers or user incentives.
