How to Use Game Boy Pokemon: Leaf Green Cheats

Game Boy Pokemon: Leaf Green, the companion game to Pokemon: Fire Red, is one of the most popular and well reviewed Pokemon games for the Game Boy system. Naturally, there are a variety of cheats to enhance the game play. Cheats include time-saving devices, special items and mini-levels that can be unlocked within the game.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Instructions

Save Time While in the Safari Zone

1. Enter the grassy portion of the Safari Zone.

2. Quickly touch the controller's directional pad. As you continue to tap it, your character will change directions, but it won't count as a step.

3. Use this technique to stall the clock long enough to capture some rare Pokemon who frequent that part of the zone.

Receive a Mystery Gift

4. Visit any one of the Pokemon Centers in the game.

5. Enter the words "LINK TOGETHER WITH ALL" when the shop owner allows you to do so.

6. Accept whatever mystery gift the shop owner chooses to give you.

Unlock Two Island's Mini-Games

7. Find the Game Corner Owner's daughter and save her.

8. Take the package and return it to the Game Corner Owner. He'll be so thankful that he'll open several mini-games for you to play within the board.

Use the Itemfinder to Receive Special Items

9. Use the Itemfinder to guide you to places in the Pokemon: Leaf Green world where legendary Pokemon characters have stood. When you do, you'll receive a special item.

10. Receive a Soothe Bell by using the Itemfinder to guide you to where Mr. Fuji once stood in the Pokemon Tower.

11. Get Leftovers by using your Itemfinder to guide you to where the pair of Snorlaxes once appeared.

12. Earn a Macho Brace by using the Itemfinder to lead you to a place within the Viridian Gym where Giovanni once stood.

Earn Special Items at the Two Island Pokemart

13. Visit Two Island's Pokemart for some of Pokeman: Leaf Green's special items. Before you can unlock them, you'll have to complete challenges.

14. Unlock the Soda Pop and Ultra Ball items by rescuing Lostella.

15. Unlock Lemonade or MooMoo Milk items after gaining a National Pokedex.

16. Unlock a Repeat Ball, Lava Cookie or Timer Ball item by finishing the Network Machine.

Tips & Warnings

• The extremely rare Shiny Pokemon can be randomly captured during the game. Unfortunately, there are no cheats to shortcut your way to a Shiny Pokemon. However, based on the odds, if you capture 8192 Pokemon in Game Boy version of Leaf Green, you'll eventually find yourself a Shiny Pokemon.
