Build Your Laser Tag Team From the Ground Up
-
1
Find willing team players of various skill levels for impromptu games.
-
2
Build a team of players with similar skill and interest levels for serious matches or league play.
-
-
3
Set a practice and play schedule. Set alternate dates or reserve standby status for players who can't make it to every practice or game.
-
4
Choose a team name to state your mission and to build camaraderie.
-
5
Select a team uniform or identifying clothing such as hats or T-shirts.
-
6
Practice for fun! Stay fresh and get new ideas by playing an unscripted game every now and then.
Build Teamwork Skills
-
7
Agree on basic rules of conduct for your team, such as two-handed firing or keeping talking to a minimum during play. Sharing simple, basic actions makes a team more cohesive.
-
8
Assess each other's strengths and weaknesses, and incorporate them into basic play strategy. For instance, an aggressive tagger can hold off the enemy or cover a teammate who is good at stealthy or swift progress toward a goal, such as a flag.
-
9
Build a line-up for moving through the field of play. Team members should be spread out, in a "net" formation, not clustered together like prey.
-
10
Let different team members act as leader from game to game so that your opponents don't memorize your roster.
-
11
Form offensive siege plays and agree on a signal for them.
-
12
Create defensive plans, such as retreat and retaliate tactics.
-
13
Practice for improvement of certain skills, such as stealth or shooting accuracy. Have one player act as evaluator or even videotape your session to see how each player performed.

Don't shoot your teammates on the field!
Don't antagonize opposing players on or off the field because they will want revenge, and they may take it out on your team members.
