If you want to have a business you can run from home, create a home based eBay business. Many people start their eBay business by cleaning out their attic, basement or garage. They are able to turn items they no longer want into income, using their computer. Other eBay sellers resell items that they buy wholesale, or crafts that they make.

Step 1

Open an account at eBay.com by choosing a name for your eBay business and filling in the information (see Resources below).
Step 2

Register as an eBay seller by submitting your checking account information or registering your credit card verification number.
Step 3

Submit the necessary information to open a PayPal account at paypal.com, so that you can receive payment from the buyers (see Resources below).
Step 4

Decide what items you are going to list on your eBay home-based auction site, and use your digital camera to take pictures of the items.
Step 5

List your auction items using the eBay seller's page. You will upload your pictures to this page also.
Step 6

Contact the winning bidder when your auction closes to let them know that they have won the auction.
Step 7

Ship your item to the winning bidder as soon as you receive payment.

For a fee, you can open and maintain an eBay store. It's a good way to give your items more exposure.
Always wrap your auction items very carefully and use the proper size box. Bubble wrap and packing peanuts will ensure your auction items are not damaged in shipping.
