How to Make a Snowflake Garland

If you would like a holiday craft that is easy and fun to do, make a paper snowflake garland that you can use to decorate doorways, windows, mirrors and your Christmas tree. Paper snowflakes are also a beautiful way to decorate homemade Christmas cards.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Paper
• Scissors
• Glitter and markers
• String or ribbon
• Glue

1. Start your snowflake with a square piece of paper. If you are using letter-size copier paper, trim it into a square.

2. Create a triangle with your paper. Fold the upper left corner to the lower right corner.

3. Crease the paper in half again, to make a smaller triangle. Fold the 2 longer sides together.

4. Bend the left third of the triangle over to the right.

5. Cut off the bottom portion of your paper, it should be 2 points from the last 2 folds. You now have a tall, thin triangle.

6. Hold the paper triangle in your hand and cut out sections and shapes. You can cut straight, curved or wiggly lines to make your snowflake.

7. Unfold your paper triangle carefully, to see your finished snowflake. Decorate the snowflakes with glitter and markers. Use a string or ribbon to attach your snowflakes together in a beautiful paper snowflake garland.

Tips & Warnings

• You can attach your snowflakes to the string or ribbon with tape or slide the string carefully through the holes in the snowflakes.
• Coffee filters, or round paper also make interesting snowflakes.
