Be a Magnetic Therapy Practitioner

Magnet therapy is an alternative healing modality that uses the application of magnets to the body to treat a variety of medical symptoms and conditions. Magnetic therapy practitioners are not certified by national or state agencies; however, there are training programs available to educate practitioners and these generally offer certificates upon completion of training.

Instructions

    • 1

Recognize that you want to engage in a helping profession and in particular a healing art. Practicing magnetic therapy will require compassion, empathy and a genuine desire to improve the lives of others.

    • 2

Decide that magnetic therapy is the modality of choice for you. Educate yourself about the field and its potential benefit to clients. Talk to people who have received magnetic therapy about their experiences with it, and to magnetic therapy practitioners about their work.

    • 3

Choose a magnetic therapy training program. A number of training programs exist. Most involve home study with one or two live seminars. Select a program that has a curriculum, timeframe for completion and training goals that match your intended career path. Apply to more than just one program so that you will have other options available if your program of choice is unable to accept you for training.

    • 4

Complete the training program into which you are accepted. Finish all assignments on time. Do all the required reading. Take advantage of whatever supports or tutorials your program offers if you find you are having any difficulty meeting requirements.

    • 5

Obtain the necessary equipment to provide magnetic therapy. These will consist of magnets of various sizes, and may also include other magnetic objects such as mattress pads.

    • 6

Get ready to go into business for yourself. Decide if you want to establish yourself as a Limited Liability Corporation, or if you need to be bonded. Consult with representatives from your training program for help with these decisions.

    • 7

Build a client base. Make business cards, write a brochure or set up a website. Advertise your services.
