How to Organize Children's Weekly Homework
The end of summer means kids go back to school. It also means lunches to pack, folders to sort through and the dreaded homework. Help homework to be less of an ordeal by setting up an area in your house to keep it organized. Train your children to keep their homework in a designated spot so that it is always easy to find, even when you are not around.

Purchase magnetic clips from an office supply store. Write each child's name on a clip. Stick weekly homework in the clip and keep it on the refrigerator.

Purchase a desk top file holder. Get a file folder for each child and write their name on it. Keep each kids homework in their folder on the counter top or on a desk.

Buy letter holders. Label a slot with each child's name. Keep weekly school work in individual slots.

Put your child's homework in a special folder. Keep the folder in your child's backpack. Take the homework out daily, and replace it daily.

Purchase individual folders for each subject. Code the folders and keep each child's group of folders in a portable file folder that will fit under the counter.

Use colored pens to write homework assignments on a calendar. Place the calendar in open view where it can't be missed. Store homework near the calendar.

Clean out homework areas weekly. Start fresh with empty folders and bins every week.
