Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Things You’ll Need:
- Compression cleaner
- Assembly lube
- Sandpaper
- Complete tool kit
Step1
Give yourself a point of reference by building a model engine for your Lamborghini. You can create a sketch and utilize miniature metal and plastic parts to simulate what the final engine will look like.
Step2
Dip your engine block, rods and other components in hot water before constructing a Lamborghini engine. Strong soap and hot water will rid your engine of debris that can clog up your engine filter.
Step3
Lube engine cylinders and bearings with an assembly lube to ensure full functioning from the first trip with your new engine. Your Lamborghini dealer will offer a variety of lubes, but you can usually head to your local auto-parts store to save money.
Step4
Measure free space in your crankshaft to avoid excess tension in your Lamborghini engine. You can solve narrow crankshaft spaces by using sandpaper to sand down the shaft walls.
Step5
Align the open ends of the top two piston rings 180 degrees apart from one another, to minimize leakage. You should use measurements of the piston rings as a way to indicate that your engine build is nearly complete.
Step6
Create an authentic feel when you build a Lamborghini engine with aluminum parts. You can use an aluminum casing and cover if you are using replica parts to establish the illusion of a manufacturer-supplied engine.
Step7
Head to kit shops in your town to find replica parts to keep your overall budget relatively low. These parts are created by third-party manufacturers. They are less expensive, but vary greatly in quality.
Step8
Locate authentic-valve tops as you complete construction of a Lamborghini engine. You will need 12 tops that are unique and rare on their own. They look like two valve covers welded together.
