Drink plenty of water. Healthy, hydrated skin starts from the inside out. Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water each day for dewy fresh skin.

    • 2

Moisturize your face and neck each morning and evening after cleansing. Use an exfoliation treatment once or twice a week to remove dead skins cells. Apply a good night cream at bedtime and a hydrating under-eye cream to help with dark circles and puffiness.

    • 3

Shower with a moisturizing body wash and apply an oatmeal based moisturizer all over your body before toweling off. Water left over from your shower will help the moisturizer absorb better.

    • 4

Exfoliate areas like elbows, knees and feet in the shower each day and apply extra moisturizer to these areas.

    • 5

Apply hand cream after each hand washing and drying. Rub lotion on your elbows whenever you lotion your hands.

    • 6

Give feet extra help by applying a heavy, peppermint foot cream before bedtime, and then cover them with white, cotton socks. You'll wake with the softest feet you've had in a long time. This also works well for hands. Use heavy hand cream and white gloves.

Use as little body wash or other soaps as needed when showering in the winter. Soaps, no matter how much moisturizer they contain, will dry skin over time. Using soaps sparingly during harsh winter months prevents drying.

Tips & Warnings

  • Wear sunscreen under your makeup everyday with an SPF of at least 15. This is true even in the winter. Wear sunscreen on the rest of your body anytime you'll have prolonged exposure to the sun.

  • Consider installing a whole house humidifier for the dry winter months. Whole house humidifiers work with your existing heating system to put humidity back in the air. This reduces itchy, dry winter skin.

  • Don't forget your lips. Use a moisturizing lip balm with sunscreen during the day and a hydrating lip treatment at night. Stay away from petroleum products that dry the lips.
