Instructions

    • 1

Tear a page out of the magazine newspaper or catalog. Fold it in half and then fold it in half again.

    • 2

Unfold the paper. There is now a crease that divides the paper into 8 equal rectangles. Cut out the rectangles.

    • 3

Make the rectangles into squares. Take 1 corner of each rectangle and fold it to the opposite side. Cut away the excess at the bottom of the triangle.

    • 4

Fold the triangle in half. Unfold it. Look at the crease pattern and fold the paper in half. This makes a rectangle. Fold the paper in half to make a square shape.

    • 5

Unfold it again and then fold it in half to make another rectangle shape. Fold the 2 sides in to make 2 squares. Unfold 1 corner. This makes a triangle on 1 side. Fold the triangle across the middle to make 2 triangles. Repeat for the other side.

    • 6

Pull out the flaps of the triangles on each side and flatten out the paper. Pull out the sides of the triangle and fold them flat to make a larger square on top of the smaller square.

    • 7

Fold the flaps in on each square to meet in the center. Open the triangles and flatten them. Fold the corners of the triangles back and crease them.

    • 8

Repeat these steps with the other pieces of paper to create 6 more folded pieces. Glue the corners of the pieces together to make a circle. Allow them to dry.
