Digital music and audio does not come with a physical component, such as a CD case or booklet. This can be a problem if you are distributing audio or want to organize your music collection by binding some information to your songs. You can do this in iTunes with ID3 tags.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Open iTunes, and navigate to the file in which you want to add information, whether it is a song you purchased from iTunes or a podcast you are sending to others.
Step2
Right-click on the file, and choose "Get Info." From the window which pops up, click on the Info tab. If it's an audio file you have downloaded, some information may already be filled in. However, you can add or change anything. If it is a podcast you created, everything is blank.
Step3
Add the ID3 information you want included with the file, such as album title, composer or year composed. Then select a genre from the dropdown menu at the bottom. If you want to add lyrics, move over to the lyrics tab to copy and paste them in.
Step4
Put ID3 information, such as a website address or any miscellaneous tags for podcasts you can distribute to others, in the comments section under the "Info" tab.
Step5
Go to the "Artwork" tab to add an album cover or other picture to the file. Drag a picture stored on your hard drive and drop it in the box. This image shows up in iTunes or other media players when you play the file.
Step6
Click the "OK" button when you are done editing your ID3 tags.
